ABBARRA means “stay” in the Sardinian language. We have chosen this word to invite people who wish to learn about Sardinia and our territory.
We, at ABBARRA, preserve our territory through research activities and the promotion of our beautiful environments in a sustainable way. We aim to protect these areas from unsuitable developments and mass tourism through low impact environmental tours.
Our idea stems from the desire, after years of individual and group experience in the tourism sector, hiking and environmental education, to set up and allow you to enjoy new and authentic experiences. We are the first excursion company in the Torpè municipality, whose territory is part of the Tepilora National Regional Park.
The Tepilora National Regional Park was created in 2014, and it joins the municipalities of Posada, Torpè, Lodè and Bitti together. It contains almost 8000 hectares of forest, trails and waterways that connect mountains, plains and the sea.
Thanks to its high naturalistic, historical and cultural value, on 14th June 2017, Tepilora Park, the territories of Rio Posada and Montalbo received recognition as a “Biosphere Reserve” within the UNESCO MAB MAN and Biosphere programme.
Marco: An Interpretive Nature Guide, registered on the Sardinian and National Registers of Professional Interpretive Nature Guides. An expert on the Tepilora National Region Park and Gallura, he has been dealing with excursions, planning, and environmental education since the mid-1990s.
