The Carboni Winery was created in the 1990s as a result of the owner’s passion, who, step by step, has instilled skills and experience and which has finally become a testimony and legacy for her young children.

The philosophy behind the winery is one of combining age-old traditional wine-making methods, inherited from previous generations, with continuous research. Between tradition and innovation, it searches for the right blend to create the best wines, by observing market trends and the most modern wine-making techniques, whilst maintaining the properties which make the grape variety, terrain and microclimate unique – in one word “terroir” – on the hills of Mandrolisai.

The Carboni winery loves the idea that the wine is a family product that stems from a special bond with the land and its movements. Even now, all the family carry out necssary painstaking work to maintain a quality that is, before anything else, a loving gesture towards nature and those who respect it and comply with it, through the wisdom of human endeavour.

This winery is a witness to the history of a small community of farmers from Ortueri, arising from many other past events coming together naturally. Excellent native grape varieties have emerged from this, worthy of greater recognition, protection, plus deserving recognition for their quality, production and variety excellence, and careful development practices as well as support from all organisations.

It tells the story of a family that, looking on proudly and fully aware of the best of their long-standing tradition, intends to pass it on confidently to their children in the future. They will hand over the duty of imparting long-held knowledge into an innovative wine-making project capable of taking away from it and synthesising its most original potential.
