HOTEL S'ENIS MONTE MACCIONE

A simple and comfortable hotel hidden in a centuries-old oak forest.

It’s an enchanting place with the purest air and water.

We are a group of determined, Sardinian people who decided when we were young to stay in the place we were born instead of moving to other parts of the world. In 1981, looking towards the future, we established a cooperative which rebuilt the ruins of an old abandoned settlement. We continued with this for the following decades up to the present day, converting it into a welcoming and supportive place for travellers who explore these places. 

The rooms, which all have bathrooms and internet connection, overlook the endless and gripping views of Barbagia or over evergreen forests of the slopes of Monte Corrasi.

Behind the main building, there is a welcoming campsite for those who prefer to sleep under the stars. And next to it flows, from a karst spring, pure and delicious low-mineral water.

Immersed in the countryside is “Su Pinnettu” a traditional circular shepherd’s hut, adapted into a relaxation area, where aromatherapy massages and the natural smells of the essence of Monte Maccione make you walk on air.

Our mountain cooking and pizzeria has ancient roots. The ingredients are simple and fundamental: bread, oil, honey, cheese, cold cuts, flour, fresh pasta, vegetables, meat, fish and good wine.

We can prepare for you: pane carasau (a type of Sardinian flatbread), gucciau and frattau (different ways of serving pane carasau), ravioli filled with fresh pecorino (sheep’s cheese), sausage, sheep and goat’s cheese from Oliena, roasted suckling pig and mutton with their various blends of flavour, seasonal vegetables with extra virgin olive oil from Oliena, tasty and light mountain pizzas always made with zero kilometre ingredients.

To finish with sevadas with sweet or bitter honey and to quench your thirst we can offer you our Cannonau.

All of the excellent products from our pantry can be purchased directly from our shop.

Snacks are available throughout the day at our snack bar.

In addition to what is shown on the menu, upon reservation, we can prepare personalised dishes, banquet and ceremony menus and, on request, special dishes, outdoor rustic lunches and packed lunches for your excursions.
