The main landmark of Aritzo is a mushroom shaped set of limestone and dolomite rocks dating back to the Giurese age. You will reach it 2 km away from the outskirts of the small city, walking down the road that takes to the so-called Cossatzu roadman’s house. Surrounded by a charming natural landscape, the Texile natural monument hits the viewers for its majesty and was probably an attraction element from Neolithic age onwards. This function is witnessed by the archaeological ruins found nearby. According to the legend, on the top of the rock the Sardinian martyr Saint Efisio, preached the christian faith to the people of Barbagia.
