Around the volcanic ashlar church of Santa Maria di Corte and the monastery of the Cistercian monks in the mid-12th century can be found, that concentrated the inhabitants of small, scattered rural centres, attracted by the Grangia, a farm linked to the church itself. In the original church, the apse, the southern part of the transept with two chapels and the sacristy can still be seen today. Close to springs and built in the shape of a cross, it is also known as Santa Maria di Cabu Abbas.
