Sa Perda e S’Altare Tomb of giants

Among the most prominent funeral monuments best preserved in the area of Birori, there is certainly the Tomb of giants called Sa Perda e S’Altare. The sepulture has the classic shape defined as protome taurina, which partially reflects in diagram the head of a taurus a sacred animal for nuragics as a male divinity simbolizing strength and power. The body hosts the rectangular funeral chamber 15 metres and a half long. The esedra, the outside cerimonial space of semicircle shape is made by 2 enormous stones asymmetric, sticked in the ground, separated in the centre by a large squared boulder embellished by the typical in relief frame in whose base the entrance gate to the funerary room can be found.
