Osini vecchia is one of the fascinating ghost villages you might encounter in the heels of Ogliastra. The old village of Osini was abandoned by its inhabitants after a devastating flood in 1951. The new town centre was built further north, but without a doubt it is possible to experience unique emotions while walking among these empty streets, peeking into the houses hurriedly left behind. The historic center is medieval in origin, with uninhabited houses and the church of Saint Susanna from the 17th century. a suspended and motionless ghost town, which comes back to life two days a year, in August, during the celebrations in honour of the saint.
