The Nivola Museum of Orani is dedicated to the artist Costantino Nivola, to the contemporary art, to the countryside and to the living traditions. Nowadays it is a cultural complex in which art, architecture and nature interact harmoniously, thanks also to the park where the structure is located and to the ancient Su Cantaru spring inside, which still plays a symbolic and functional role for the villagers. The permanent collection offers hundreds of sculptures, paintings and graphics by Nivola, an artist who has a prominent role in the modernist research of the 20th century of the relationship between sculpture and architecture.
The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and artist residencies mainly related to the crucial themes addressed by Nivola (the relationship between art, architecture and landscape, public art and participation).
