Necropoli Sas Concas

The Necropoli Sas Concas is one of the most important underground buildings on the island. Dating back to the 3rd century B.C., the area was excavated between the 60's and 70's, and its peculiarity stood out immediately compared to other tomb complexes. In fact, the one at Sas Concas has more complex architectural elements, but most importantly it is a variety of tombs grouped together in a single place, although tombs are usually found more isolated from each other.
The Necropoli consists of about 20 tombs, some of which are in good condition while others are damaged due to work carried out in the area. One of the most important of them is the Chamber with its peculiar decorations inside and engravings of human figures shown upside down, thought to represent the passage from the world of the living to the world of the dead.
