Onanì Barbagia

Murales by Diego Asproni and the students of the Brera Academy

Walking down the streets of Onani you immediately realize how art is the main characteristic feature of the town. Pieces of art decorate the walls of the center made by Diego Asproni, an artist from Bitti. These are murals that have very specific purposes, such as expressing the needs of the population, protesting, pushing the country to fight against injustice.
You can admire murals in front of the town hall, in the main square and on the walls of private houses, such as the one made by six artists of the Academy of Brera, which represents a very touching scene, a mother with her deceased son in her arms. You can find many other paintings like this decorating the country and telling stories through the various characterized events.
