The exploitation of the Sos Enattos mine was already taking place in Roman times. Over the centuries, tunnels and wells were dug until the resources were completely exhausted in 1960. Initially Galena Argentifera was extracted, later Blenda was also extracted, from which zinc is also extracted.
The mine was finally closed in 1997 despite protests from the miners and workers who would have found themselves without a job, but it did not matter. Today, the mine is a crown jewel for tourists as it still retains a panorama thanks to its location, and guided tours are held inside on some sections of the gallery and the rooms where the machinery was used by hundreds and hundreds of men and women who worked there can still be seen.
