Tertenia is a fascinating combination of sea and mountain landscapes. Its Marina, the southern peak of Ogliastra is located 10 km from the inhabitated village that includes kilometers of seashore with white and fine sand, interspersed with rocky shores. The longest seashore is Foxi Manna with a beach so wide that it is never crowded, not even in mid-August. Other seashores are Abba Urci which is famous for its red and grey pebbles, Tesonis, also known as the beach of Sferracavallo and Barisoni, both with thick gold sand and pebbles. The most famous sandy beach with pebbles is Foxi Murdegu, surmounted by green mediterranean spots and the Spanish watchtower of San Giovanni Sarrala, which was transformed into a bunker during the second world war.
