Forests of Ussassai

The smallest village of Barbagia di Seulo is literally surrounded by landscapes of wild beauty, dense forests and enchanting scenery dominated by the "tacchi" and the calcareous formations typical of Ogliastra that has its southern border to the interior here. The excursionists will enjoy walking to discover the rocks with strange profiles such as the spike that looks like 'Dante. Trekking and biking is nice between springs and forests of holm oaks, especially in the woods of Takiggeddu, su Piss'e Irtzioni and Niala. A part of its territory falls in Montarbu with its important faunal oasis. You can also admire nature on board the Green Train on the Mandas-Arbatax line that stops in the old station of Ussassai that dates back to 1893.
