Ethnographic Museum Casa Montanaru and Carta home museum

In the old neighbour Ovolaccio in Desulo there is Casa Montanaru, a building which was home to Antioco Casula, the greatest poet in Sardinian Language who lived between the end of the XIX century and the first half of the XX century. The 4 floors palace collects the great artist life memories. His studio and his correspondence with the greatest protagonists of the first half of the 900. Furthermore it stores the 1500 volumes that compose the poet personal library. The building in typical desulese style also hosts several exhibitions among which there are the displays of the works of the German glottology scholar Max Leopold Wagner, who visited the village in 1926.  The collection ends up with an objects exhibition. Not only it allows to discover the agro pastoral work tools representing the economy and the local tradition but also the beautiful traditional garments made with red rag and colored silk embroidery.

In the Asuai district you may visit the Carta family Home museum. devoted himself to the local trade activities and the valorization of traditional costumes.
