Casa Porru

The Casa Porru is a typical mountain house in rustic barbarian style divided in 5 building units built in the historic fabric district. The most valuable architectural piece is s'istauleddu ammantau, the balcony made of chestnut wood that connects the opposite sides of the house in Via Umberto. The house consists of five buildings, two main residentials and the remaining units, stables, barns, storages, cellars, etc., are used as local service and to support the economic family life. The main body of the building has three floors; the basement, directly accessible from Via Umberto, is intended for service rooms, cellars, storage and pantry, (funnagos and magasinos), the ground floor, with the main entrance on Via Asproni, has a residential function and consists of rooms (aposentos), dining room (cogina) and a commercial environment (tobacconist's store) (s'istangu); and on this level there is a gallery that connects to the other body of the building. the top floor, the attic (su pitzigeddu) and the loft (su cara a crobetta).
