The archaeological site Su Tempiesu was discovered in 1953, six kilometres from the village, and is pertinent to the Nuragic age and associated with the 'cult of the waters', as in the naturalistic spiritual expression of Sardinia 3000 years ago. Water flows out of a rock wall and flows into the seven-metre high temple. The offering and storage cabinets are still well preserved, and numerous items from that period have been found, probably donated by the devoted inhabitants, and the site is one of the most undamaged and important archaeological sites in Sardinia.
